Celebrating International Women’s Day

Today marks International Women’s Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. From trailblazers who shattered glass ceilings to the unsung activists making a difference in their communities, women’s accomplishments make a difference around the world. By highlighting their successes, we inspire future generations to dream big and pursue their goals without limitations.

The rich history of International Women’s Day dates back to the early 1900’s and over a hundred years later, it remains an important moment to focus on advancing women’s equality. Each year, the day is celebrated with a specific theme that highlights issues critical to women—and this year, it is “Inspire Inclusion.” PSSI understands the vital role that women play in enhancing the culture of inclusivity and PSSI Chief Human Resources Officer Jeanette Bruni has emphasized PSSI’s commitment to recruiting, retaining, and developing female talent, and more importantly, supporting women in leadership roles where they can grow their careers while having a positive impact on those around them.

For women considering careers in the food safety industry, Jeanette has this piece of advice:

“Believe in yourself, seize every opportunity to learn and grow, and never underestimate the value of your unique perspective and contributions.”

While today is an opportunity to reflect more broadly on the importance of women in the food safety industry, it’s also a chance to express a deep appreciation for the dedicated women who hold key positions in every department within the company and work tirelessly to keep food safe for all Americans.  Thank you for all that you do!

Finally, PSSI is committed to a culture of compliance and we also strive for a culture of inclusion—one that inspires others to understand and value the contributions women bring to PSSI.

Happy International Women’s Day!
